Stain Protectors

We offer two brands of stain protector for carpet and furniture. Protectors put a coating on the actual fabric fibers that help to repel any substances spilled on the carpet or upholstery. This protection keeps the substance from rapidly penetrating the fiber, making clean up easier and giving the substance less time to permanently penetrate the fibers. Protected fibers should be sponged and blotted using clear water and paper toweling.

1. Teflon:  Made by Dupont and applied to damp carpet and upholstery after cleaning. Will last up to 6 months under normal use. Recommended for use on those areas which are lightly to moderately used and for customers that have their carpet cleaned regularly every six months or so. Not recommended for heavy traffic areas or for families with small children or pets.

2. Scotchgard: Made by 3M and applied to damp carpet and upholstery after cleaning. Can also be applied to dry carpet and upholstery. Will last up to one year and will protect under heavier wear and tear than the Teflon. Recommended for the heavy traffic areas.

Pet Odor Control

This additional service is $30.00 per area. Especially for pet urine and odor problems. It is a three-step process:

Step 1: "Urinse," a solution made especially for urine, is sprayed on carpet. It breaks up the harder particles in the urine such as salts, that are left behind in the carpet, so they are easier to extract.

Step 2:  The carpet is steam cleaned.

Step 3: Enzyme treatment is applied. This is a live protozoan that actually eats bacteria. It lives in moist environments and actually works as the carpet is drying. It is gone when the carpet dries and kills bacteria which cause the odor.
